Helping the Homeless

Jesus in the poorIn our Church, we are collecting items for St. Lucy Emergency Shelter, and for St. Matthew's Lunchtime Ministry. There are about 50-70 homeless people in Hoboken, and many who cannot afford the rent. One man, Tom is 73-years-old, and he lives on the street. He has been homeless for several years, and the retirement money he receives isn't enough for him to survive. He attends Hoboken Grace Church, and he loves to live in Hoboken. In Hoboken, he has his doctor, friends, and his church. This year, he spent two weeks in the hospital, because homeless people have many medical issues. There are all types of people who live on the streets, even Doctors! Homelessness can affect everyone, but there is a way to help. We are asking for jackets, blankets, warm shoes, sanitary and nonperishable items. We thank everyone with our whole hearts, because we are fulfilling the teaching of Jesus. All the times can be brought to the parish. If anyone has any questions please email me at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
