The Day of Recollection

A group of youth in our parish continued their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation with a prayer meeting, during which they contemplated the importance of this event . The Day of Recollection before the Confirmation took place in the monastery of the Salvatorian Fathers in Verona, NJ. The first on the agenda was the discussion on the importance of penance in the life of a Christian, and the sacrament of confession. The candidates with their CCD teacher, the CDD Director and Father Paweł spent time together in the adoration of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. After attending the mass, and a lunch break, the Day of Recollection continued with a conference on the topic of purity. There was also time for some games and friendly chats. Towards the end of the event, at 3 o’clock the attendees, joined by the youth’s parents, prayed together the beautiful prayer of Chapel of Divine Mercy. In a short time, upon receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation our young parishioners will take another important step in their spiritual life.
